This blog is to journalize my job at Bass Pro Shops in Little Rock Arkansas
My name is Sean and I love the great outdoors. I currently have a full-time job and on the weekends and my days off, I go hiking and camping. Some of my great adventures took me to the Grand Canyon for a 6 day hike, The Royal Arch loop.
I hiked many trails including parts of the famous OuachitaTrail that runs over 210 miles thru Arkansas and Oklahoma.
When I heard that a bass pro shops was going to open up in Little Rock Arkansas, I immediately knew this was my dream job. I just happen to be off the first day of the job fair. It took over three hours to see an HR representative.
I met the stores general manager, Will Andersen and then interviewed with Doug Cheek who oversees the camping and marine sections of the store.
Over the next two weeks, I had a second and third interview. We finalized our employment agreement at the fourth meeting by filling out a lot of paperwork.
We got our name badges made and our T-shirts to wear during setup.
Orientation and training starts September 30, 2013. I am extremely excited!!
My current full-time job is extremely sad to see me go but they also understand how I am always talking about going hiking and camping when I am not at work. This new job is a hobby I get paid to do. The American dream.
